Sand Clear vs Metamucil......

A neighbor told me that Metamucil can be used monthly instead of the Sand clear. If this is true, it might just save alot of money! Does anyone know if this is true, and if so, how much they need?

AFAIK metamucil is actually more expensive, per horse sized dose, than equine psyllium products like Sand Clear, isn't it?

We buy the bulk Metamucil from Sams Club and it comes out considerably cheaper than Sand Clear. I would be it is something you would have to compare locally from a store to store.

We do not use it anymore but use a basic Psyllium product instead, due to the fact that the horses hated the taste and amount of Metamucil they needed to eat.

Most of my horses are on a Ration Balancer and when you add Metamucil to a small amount of feed my horses stuck their tounges out at me.
