Sand Coop Floor...Ants?

Hello,

For those of you that have a sanded coop floor...are ants ever a problem?
I'm looking at the idea of sand as well as other flooring ideas & was wondering if ants will be an issue.
I live in Michigan.

We are planning on sand for our (first) new coop as well. Wouldn't the girls eat the ants? Maybe I'm being naive but I'm just assuming they're going to eat any bugs that get close enough.

Chickens love most bugs! I've seen mine eat carpenter ants almost fighting over them but you get a big bug and they all turn away from it. If you have mosquito's they love those too.

I've never seen that question come up - now I wonder if that attracts them .
