i'm planning on using sand in my coop and run when they eventually get there so i'm thinking it might make the most sense to just start them off right away on sand in the brooder. does anyone else do this? is it more or less dusty than wood shavings?

We are going to use sand in the coop too, but I've heard that just using pine shavings in the brooder is best. Sand is supposed to be GREAT in the coop though

hmmm never used sand in the brooder before but once they leave the brooder I put them in a seperate pen until they are about 16 weeks old and they have a sand and dirt floor for them to scratch in..they love it..
