Sand floors

If you have a sand floor, do you put anything on top of that?

Straw or pine shavings for the winter?

How often do you clean it, rake it?

I would probably use pine shavings. I use them in my coop.

I would use sand to avoid having to put anything else in there. I'd rake it once a week and spot-rake as necessary.

Thanks! I wasn't sure if I should add something with winter coming.

I do like the sand though so far!
