Sand for baby chicks.

I just got my first chicks a week ago and so far, so good. I've read a ton and researched like crazy. One thing that was said was to put a small sand box in there for them. I did that the other day and they love it. I just purchased a bag of sand from Home Depot. I checked to make sure it was not treated with anything, if that is even possible. Now I've read that I should not do play sand because it has silica in it??? Any thoughts on this?

Sand is fine! I use it all the time.

It is good to get either play sand or washed sand, to hopefully reduce the dust. But believe me it is still dusty so wear a mask when you sift the sand.
