Happy Saturday! First time poster but have been creeping on the threads for some time. I'm looking for some feedback on sand in the Run. Particularly the sand I purchased based on other posts and websites I have read. I read that masonry sand is best and that is what I purchased through Home Depot, but now that these 2 very large bags are sitting my front yard I'm thinking the sand is too fine. I added a photo and hopefully it uploads, because the video would not. Any feedback is helpful and thank you in advance!

I do not use sand, but in looking at that, it's too fine. Chickens need grit, so a bit larger type sand like construction sand. You could just mix it in, 50/50 so you don't waste what you bought.

If you search BYC, "sand in run" you'll see many posts. Some liking it and some not liking it and what kinds of sand.

Here's one though about the type of sand.

Thank you for replying and the link, that's what I was thinking as well. I have some larger grit sand that I use for their poop shelf so I could mix that. Thank you again, have a great day!
