Hey everyone, I know i have been posting a ton lately, I have been really worried! Ok, so is it ok if after I or my friends use hand sanitizer we touch the chicks? My friends all do and say its fine, but I'm worried about the chemicals! Thanks

Every time I touch the chickens I wash and sanitize my hands.

Washing hands with soap and water is good but if your just using the hand sanitizer, I would think that it probably doesn't harm them, but all that alcohol could dry out their skin and feathers. I could be wrong but I just use soap and water.

Ok thanks ya, i just use soap and water, but my friends (who don't know chickens as well) find it easier to use the sanitizer

I use sanitizer all the time, it's great for those times when you don't have time to wash your hands. I actually have one of those wall purell mount things that you see on hospitals (got it as a joke gift. Never thought it would actually come in handy haha). Its better than nothing

Hand sanitizer is better than nothing, but not as good a soap and water.
