"It's the GREAT PUMKIN, Charlie Brown!"

Ah...those were the good days! Now I'm tempted to go digging through the box of old VCR tapes just to watch that old episode of Charlie Brown!

Oh, and thank you Purple Chicken, for the compliment!

Oh I forgot to add yesterday that my kids have been tuaght abou tthe real Santa Claus. You know Saint Nick?

my mom keeps the easter bunny, santa, stuff going for my brother( 8) , I personaly will not teach my kids these holiday's, there will be a few "christ"mas presents, but I want them to know the real meaning of "christ"mas.

Well we go to Church year round. And Charlie will tell you in a New York minute why we celebrate Christmas! (Charlie is 22 and is a special child and has the reasoning and understanding of a five or six year old) It is hard to say what excites him more, Jesus's birthday party at Church or Christmas morning here at home. All his sisters and brothers grew up believing in Santa, and the Easter bunny. And he who busted a siblings bubble was in turn busted! Not because we worship Santa but because its wrong to do something like that to a child just because you know better! Thats the way it is here! Everyone has the right to worship and enjoy the Holidays as they see fit! We have always been very specific about why there is a season! And we celebrate Christmas traditionally and spritually. The Santa thing is for the children, and I for one think that there is plenty of time for children to see the world for what it is as they mature. I have had the greatest pleasure seeing the eyes on my children on Christmas morning as they come in and see what Santa has brought them. By that time there has been a great deal of time spent at Church, with Contadas and birthdays for Jesus and all the celebration and praise that goes with the the Christmas season. We dont over do the gift thing. Though, in the past I'm sure we have. If you see our avatar and the signature line you can see where we stand on this. Merry Christmas to Everyone enjoy this Blessed season as you see fit!

Santa and the Easter Bunny both visit here. The Tooth Fairy has yet to visit since the little guy is only 5 and still has all his baby teeth. He is getting impatient for that though. We attend church almost every Sunday and feel confident that our son knows the true meaning of Christmas according to our religious beliefs. LOL- he just decorated a birthday card for a classmate with a unicorn, a Christmas tree and the words "Believe in God" all on his own. (We had a talk about a better choice of words and he redid that part.) We try to talk about everyone having the right to their own beliefs. Santa and particularly the Easter Bunny are not our main focus. Santa was a much bigger deal for me when I was little. A big part of Santa for me is nostalgia.

My kids believed in Santa. And when they were old enough, I told them there was a Santa, his name is St. Nick and we are just keeping his traditions alive by giving gifts just like he did. They know that it's the birth of Christ. My kids are all good well rounded adults now. It was fun having them believe in Santa.
