Sapphire Gem cockerel

I have a boy that is supposed to be a Gem also. Not sure but he looks similar! He is pretty laid back and has only bit me once. He is 19 weeks old. Your boy is beautiful!

WOW what a handsome fellow you have!! 💗 He is about the same age as mine even! I love the light barring in your cockerels tail. 🥰

So far mine has been a laid back guy too. I am relieved as I had read they were aggressive. Mine crows throughout the day but definitely not constantly. While there are other roosters well within ear shot he chooses not to participate in the crow alongs.

Thanks for keeping us up on how he's doing, he's such a looker!

I plan to keep his thread going as long as he is going. 😊 Thanks!

I just took leftover watermelon out to the birds. It's nice to see he tidbits now.
Most importantly f my elderly girls ignore his antics but the pullets all came to his clucking calls.
He must be happy to have a harem of girls pay him attention!

I see in my quoted post predictive text struck again lol. It should have said "most OF my elderly girls".

He seems happy to me. The girls are almost all laying now including the Brahmas!

Now just to get a broody next spring...

Somebody is bound to go broody by spring?

I can only hope! Most of my birds are production types so not likely there. Maybe one of the 3 Brahmas??
They don't go broody when you need them to and go broody when you don't want them too! Broodies need a switch. :gig

Quin is still a good boy. I see more tid bitting and dance attempts this week from him.

He is not bothering the elderly bantam Cochin one bit. IMG_20230819_183040_1~2.jpg
