Sapphire Gem Roosters

Sapphire roosters will have yellow legs and beak so I suspect he’s not a true sapphire gem

Please do not refer to Sapphire Gems as Sapphires. There is a huge difference between a Sapphire and a Sapphire Gem. Sapphires are an F1 hybrid from a Cream Legbar rooster and White Leghorn hens. They are a mostly white chicken that lay a blue egg. Sapphires were created in England long before there were any Sapphire Gems.

sorry about that. I honestly tried to continually put gem after it each time because I caught myself dropping it but missed that one.

I had the same thing, I bought 6 sapphire gems from a bin of sex-linked pullets, and 2 are cockerels. Look at my handsome boy!

Well, I just found this thread and Tractor Supply messed up lol I too have a roo instead of a hen out of three. He has already starting to try and crow lol…i brought 5 chicks, 3 sapphire gems and 2 welsummers. They are 10 weeks old
