Hi! I am looking forward to reading and learning lots. I have not raised chickens for several years and now looking to start again. I currently have zero chickens but several silver fox rabbits. I am looking for Dorkings but am finding them VERY hard to find. If you have any to sell, PLEASE let me know. I might go with Australops or Speckled Sussex since I do not want to wait maybe forever until some Dorkings are available. Thank you in advance for everything.

I've toyed with the idea of Dorkings, but I've never had any. No Australorps either. But, my Speckled Sussex is my "unhelpful" helper who has to butt in on whatever I'm doing. She is extremely personable, quietly chatty and generally under foot. I adore her.

Good luck getting back into the wonderful world of chickens, no matter which breed you end up getting. Welcome to BYC; it's always good to have a new member with poultry experience!

Welcome to BYC!
I know Murray McMurrary Hatchery sells them, but they seem to be out of females at the moment. Your might be able to find some on Craigslist or from a local breeder.

Never owned Dorkings before, but I've loved having my Sussex girls. They are among my most curious and personable birds, always underfoot trying to see what I'm up to. The Australorps I've owned are probably my least favorite breed. Mine have this rude sassiness about them they I'm not a fan of. They are funny though.

Best of luck finding the breeds you want, and let us know if you need anything!
