I'm getting some in October. Are they an easy to care for breed? Do they care for their young or do you need foster parents? Are they common? What all colors do they come in? Do they have homing instinct?

Are they old style or modern? The os are easy to breed but mods have such a short bead that they cant feed their babies.
Hope this helps

i love my classic old frills, satinette is a general term, they are a nice little breed, easy to care for, raise their own young, regular frills are hard to breed and need foster parents, all depends on the beak, here's a few pics of mine, they don't home per say but will stay close to their loft, i fly mine with my homers and rollers, they come in the satinette colors and the blondinette colors, look up the classic frill club on the net tons of info

They are more than likely Old Style Oriental Frills - they are the most common because they don't require fosters. They are no more difficult to take care of than other breeds. I love mine

Satinettes are always saddle in coloration. There are also Blondinette and Turbiteen Oriental Frills (both rare in Old style). All of these names, including Satinette, are just the names of color varieties of Oriental Frills. They can also be split down into more specific colors, but that's not really important right now.

Satinettes come in all three base colors, in all patterns, and can also be dilute. They are all frill stenciled, which turns the pattern brown to white. Some have spot tails, others are laced (spread birds).
