Some things you have to try to save. This bald eagle can't fly. So we're trying to get someone out here to pick it up for rehab.

I can’t imagine not trying to save a bald eagle. They are quite handsome and, after all, our national symbol!

That's my wonder too. It's low tide, the herring are spawning - could have been a bad dive and hit the rocks, could have been a scrabble with another eagle.. it has enough energy to hop down the shoreline about 1000ft, trying to keep an eye on it as we have people from the raptor center on their way, since they don't have a boat spouse is picking them up.

Got him. He's now on his way to vet and rehab.

Update : has a fractured left coracoid bone. Won't be flying again anytime soon.

I had to look up what a coracoid bone was. I wonder how he broke it? Hope he heals well.
