Hi Everyone
)
I have a mix of egg laying hens. Here on the ranch we raise alpacas, but also we have approximately 50 chickens, 1 old rabbit for the Grandsons, 2 stock dogs, and 2 ranch kittys.
We LOVE our critters. Here lately, our hens (3 Hens) have become egg bound!!We have had that two other times a few years ago. I felt so helpless!! I gave them warm sitz baths, and all of the other remedys for them and still they died!! That breaks my heart.
So, we found a hen that was egg bound, she was walking low to the ground like a duck, her tummy tight as a fat tick!! and her eyes half closed, you could see the pain in her eyes. I felt helpless!!
So, as I was holding her in the warm water, I thought about it and thinking about what I read in my new book on the goodness of coconut oil, I thought what the heck!! I will try it. She might die anyway
(
So..I gave the first hen 1/2 cup of the coconut oil chopped in small pieces, after awhile when she settled down she started gobbling it down. and after 4 days she was back to walking around and being a normal chicken soft tummy, no pain and a happy clucker!!
The coconut oil worked!! you might have read my other Threads that I wrote. I just want to help other painful egg bound hens.
Try it.... I made a big coconut oil block with (chick corn scratch in it) for both of our flocks of chickens to eat at anytime so they won't get egg bound anymore. Plus their feathers will be shinier, their skin will be softer, and they will have more energy, and the list of good things goes on.
I am not trying to toot my own horn I am trying to get this important remedy to help out egg bound hens.
My hens are back to normal, with normal soft tummys and no pain. and they lived through it!!! In 5 days of treatment!! All three of my hens are back to normal and living to cluck about it
)
Usually, they don't live through it they end up pushing up daisy's.. Not good!! Sad!!
(
So.. save your hens.
Sometimes its good to think out of the laying box.
Thank you Lord it worked for us and our hens.
All three doing fine, back to normal.
Trying to help out
