Yes that would be better than having 4 storage containers I used this year.

Started mine in a 40 gallon breeder; and for small numbers, I'll probably continue to do so.

But when I took the little ones outside, perfect to keep them altogether and safe from the attentions of the older established layers.

I used a dog run to let them outside near older chicks.

Do you use newspaper in bottom. I was told you shouldn't use it, as it can cause splay legs. It's too slick, nothing for them to grip on. Was told to use paper towels.

I usually use newspaper with paper towels on top. When I took the image, the paper towels weren't in yet.

Then later I skipped the paper towels completely. 6 birds raised and no problems....this year.

Won't be getting any new birds for couple of years. Went overboard this year, my first time having them. Was only going to have 10 or 15, wound up with 37 chicks that won't be laying until October or November.
