Wild turkey and her poults.Saw this mom and her 3 babies cross the road. And when I rolled my window down (was getting my kids at the bus stop) for a better photo, the mom dipped out and flew away. The babies stared at me for a second and then flew off too! I googled and it said wild turkey but idk. What do yall think?

I didn't know they could fly. I always thought turkey were too heavy no matter what kind.
They can fly pretty well. Here they roost high up in the 50-100 ish foot pine trees
Wild turkeys and heritage turkeys fly very well. The broad breasted turkeys fly well when they are young but lose that ability as they gain weight too fast.
