In the Brooder
Hello everyone! I am not new to owning chickens, had my original 8 for 8 months before I had to butcher the roosters. I kept the six hens and then at 2 years of age I added 4 new babies. As my original hens started to get older I lost one to natural causes and then had to butcher two because of age. I have this year added eight new babies to the flock and got a hen from a neighbor that had lost all but one of his hens to a predator. I am now up to 16 birds!
I have two red rangers, 1 Isa Brown, 1 maran, 1 Americana, 1 Barred rock, 1 black laced Wyandott, 1 olive egger, 2 color pack, 1 buff Orpington, 2 buff Wyandottes, 1 dominant copper, 1 blue Andalusian, and 1 hen I don’t know (neighbor)
I love the fresh eggs and the weed and bug control! They make great pets and are wonderful with my dogs!
I ride horses, read, and crochet in the winter!
I have no children, my pets are my kids…lol
i have two horses, 3 dogs, and 4 cats!
I found BYC when looking up info on raising chickens and come and look at questions others have to get answer. I finally decided to join because I have my own question.
