Hello,
New to this community. Hoping to learn a lot about keeping backyard chickens, and finding answers to my question.
Currently have three 4 mo Silkies in the Netherlands. The idea was to have two hens and one rooster and use this as the base line for my flock, although I'm now afraid I have two roosters and one hen haha (see topic).
Next year I'm planning to buy some fertilised eggs from another chicken breed and let the hen hatch them. And then the next year another breed and so on, to grow my flock organically in a big, diverse bunch. Also hoping for a couple ducks next year.
They will have a orchard of +/- 2000 m2 at their disposal, but for now the silkies are quite content with a smaller fenced off piece of land of about 150m2.
