That’s a pretty good price. Did they know how old they are? Any laying yet?

They suggested 6 months, but I don’t know how knowledgeable they are.
We just got them yesterday and they are still asleep here in LA, so I haven’t seen any eggs yet

Funny I was thinking maybe all but one were and the one red chicken couldn’t see well enough to tell. Hoping I was wrong though. Are any crowing? If not would wait to see. They usually start crowing anywhere from 2-4 months but can wait till 5 or 6 months. Might need some girls to go with or if start crowing maybe rehome or return if don’t want. Wasn’t sure if roosters are the goal here or permitted in your area?

I was worried about roosters too and we def can’t have 4 roosters (( the shelter is nice and they take them back if need be. They had a large run there. It was very weird that they kept them with one adult rooster tho. They also were at the shelter for 3 weeks.

Roosters tend to have larger and very red combs with larger feet. They have longer head/neck, back, and tail feathers. Just some features to look for to help identify.

Not wierd might have been a bachelor pad so not likely to breed and populate more.

They sexed them as females... but it surely can be hard to tell. Their tail feathers aren’t that defined and not round. The hackle feathers are more pointy too. No crowing yet.
