I just hatched out some sbel crosses and am confused about the color of chicks I'm getting. Can anyone tell me what I would/should get (color of chick) with the crosses below:
Bielefelder hen x SBEL roo (the sbel roos were white with black flecks here and there)
Leghorn hen x SBEL roo (the sbel roos were white with black flecks here and there)
On another note, I do have some SBEL hens that started laying, 98% sure it's them - started laying at about 4 months 1 week. Their egg color is blue-green - a tad more blue than green. Glad they can pass for blue-ish, but disappointed they are not as blue as the pictures on MPC. Would not buy again. The roosters are mean, too. Sold all the roos. Good with fertilizing, but attitude is not family friendly at all. Literally would come running after us when we walked out of house and it wasn't because they thought we were giving treats. Do not turn your back on these guys!
