I have a 12 week old Bantum Buckeye Rooster who has developed these horrible looking sores/scabs all over his legs and on the tops of his feet. I checked the bottoms of his feet and they look fine. He also has one tiny spot by his right ear. He is in with two 12 week old girls and there is no fighting, however, when he has come into contact wth my older hens, they peck the heck out of him. I cannot find a really good picture of Bumblefoot that matches what he has going on and some of the pictures of scaley leg mites sort of fit the description, but not really. The scabs pick off pretty easily, but there does not seem to be a "core" as described with Bumblefoot. When I pick at the scab, it just bleeds. Thoughts?

Infection. Get antibiotics going and start treating for Scaley Leg Mites. I like the Scarlet Oil Spray because it kills the mites and it has antispectic. Feed stores and probably some pet supplies carry it. You might have to ask for a spray top because sometimes they don't come with a spray top.

Here is what is growing on my roo's legs. Both legs are effected, but these lesions are only on the tops of his toes, and on his legs. He does not have any on the bottom of his feet. He also has a scabby area by his ear and one on his neck area. I have separated him from the rest of my flock and I am attempting to treat superficially, until my vet can get me a antiobiotic dose. He isn't looking too great right now. I am not sure if he is gonna make it. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!!

Thanks

Did you figure out what was going on? I have a hen with this all over both her feet. I've isolated her, but am really worried. Did you have to get antibiotics through a vet? Thanks!
