I have put vaseline on my chickens' legs before but now I'm wondering if it make their legs colder in winter or not?

eta: does DE help with scaley-leg mites? I just ordered some but haven't received it yet.

the Vaseline should be fine... it is used to help prevent frostbite on waddles and combs so I think it will be fine on their legs

ets: i dont think the DE helps with the sacly leg mites, because the mite is actually under the scales on the feet (it can move to the face too from what I have read) but its to hard to get the DE up under the scales

I am having an issue with SLM too and I bought the cream for humans with scabies. in Canada its called NIX and it is a one time treatment I will let you know how it works vs. the Vaseline route
