scaly leg mites and cold weather

My small backyard flock had recently gotten down to two chickens. One with leg feathers, and a Silver Sebright (without). The Sebright had a moderate case of Scaly Leg Mites, and last night the Sebright was taken by a predator. I'm going to get rid of the last chicken and clean out the coop so that a new flock can come in the spring to a clean coop.

I am wondering, if the cold weather we've been having (-2C at night,,, 2C day) has any effect on the survival rate of the leg mites? I will be cleaning the coop and sanitizing it, but if the cold has any bearing on the life of the mites, I probably won't use as much sanitizer.
