I have done a ton of googling and mostly have gotten treatment options for CHICKENS.
My ducks are housed with my chickens(something i'll be changing soon-ish), which is apparently the only occasion in which ducks get this specific parasite.
My chickens have been on the dip legs in vegetable oil every other day regimen. Which brings me to my ducks. I have 19, 13 of which are musocivies. I don't want to say I CAN'T use this method. But it is horribly time consuming and tedious. They're not particularly social and will fly into my face and or onto the roof to get away. I could do it at night when they're cooped but it's extremely stressful for them and I don't want oil all over the coop.
I saw one method online where the gal dipped chickens in a 5 gallon bucket full of mostly water, and about 2-3 cups of oil since oil floats. This has me thinking, can I put vegetable oil in the ducks pools? So they'll treat themselves without even knowing it when they go for a swim? I was worried about possible consumption but this appears to be safe for ducks? Has anyone done this before or have any feedback as to if this would be safe or not? Or any other better options/idea for treating these ducks?

I've heard from numerous people that ducks can't get scaly leg mites due to the different scale composition on their legs. I wouldn't do anything to the ducks.
