I am at a loss on how to deal with scaly leg mites. I have been treating about every 2 weeks for 6 weeks, and I STILL have chickens getting them. My coop has a dirt floor, and the chickens have a covered area outside that used to be grass, but is now dirt. Here's what I've tried so far:
1) Ivermectin (injectable) in the water
2) Vegetable oil mixed with a little bit of Sevin dust applied to legs and Sevin dust spread in coop
3) Vasoline mixed with a little bit of Sevin Dust applied to legs and Sevin dust spread in the coop
4) Adams Flea and Tick spray applied to legs, Sevin dust spread in the coop

Any other ideas on how to get rid of the mites?

You could try food grade D.E. sprinkled in thier favorite dust hole. and dust it on thier legs. I don't know if this will work but its cheap and worth a try.
