Scaly Leg Mites or another problem? photo heavy

Wowser, that's alot of info! Thanks!

The girls are rather content in the cage, but I would like them in the coop rather than the laundry room.

Re: Scaly Leg Mites - would it be unusual to have the infestation on only the front side of the leg? If so, I would lean towards their not been active outside for years as the cause. And the prior home confirmed they rarely left the coop.

I'm proceeding with caution, but what do you think? Would updated photos help?

the scales on your birds legs isn't unusual for Scaley Leg...

setting hens are vulnerable to mite/lice infestation...
and these girls have not been mobile because of the long nail situation..and discomfort, and just like setting hens, they were vulnerable to infestation..
Scaley Leg can cause discomfort and even lameness.

are they moving around at all?
is there any change or improvement in the legs/feet?

if these were my hens, I would treat for mites, along with the oil on the legs.

I would also give them some plain yogurt mixed with feed, and some extra protein.

how are they doing?
are they eating?
are they laying?

They are cheerful and chirpy. Not laying, but I also don't know how old they are. Eating everything I give them.

Their feet are soft and the feathers look like they've never seen dirt or droppings.

Are there secondary symptoms of scaly leg mites?
