Scaly Leg Mites??? (Pics)

Hello!
I’m trying to keep my eyes on my ladies’ scales and catch scaly leg mites before it becomes serious. It seems that all of the pictures online are severe cases. Does this look like scaly leg mites? This is a 2 year old Buff Orpington.

The scales are beat up and raised a little.
Hard to give a definite "yes" that it's the beginnings of SLM.
The beauty of SLM treatment is it's not harmful - there's nothing that says you can't wash debris off legs and apply vaseline, castor oil, Nu Stock, etc. to the legs working the ointment/oils up underneath the scales. If it's not SLM, no harm nor "fowl".
