So until today when I just found out about leg mites I believed this to just be dry skin. I know I post a lot about illnesses, hopefully I don't seem like the boy who calls wolf, but are these mites?
Thank you for any help!

Not sure since I cant see any crawling around. I treated my chickens legs that I suspected or seen mites on with Crisco shortening. You can also use margarine, or butter. Some peeps use Vaseline, but I don't because it is not eatable. The shortening will suffocate the lil devils in those scales. You may need to reapply several days. Chickens will pick on their legs and eat the shortening.
... I was planning on doing, warm water bath, let dry, apply Campho-Phenique or Butter, release... any suggestions? I'm just going off one website, and I think you have more experience, so I'm to try it if I have it.(no vaseline or Crisco on hand, but I can buy it if it works really well)
Scaly leg mites are microscopic so if you can see them your peepers are better than mine.
Vaseline was sold by Occidental Petroleum. And Occidental Petroleum was owned for decades by a dude whose radical Socialist daddy named his son "Armand Hammer" in 1898 supposedly because a muscular arm wielding a big hammer inside of a Red Circle was the emblem that the American Socialist Party used on all their advertising. Like George Soros today Armand Hammer got in tight with the USSR and made his first big money selling oil drilling equipment to the Soviet Union before branching out into financing big name Democrat politicians like Al Gore Senior and Junior.

Well old Armand Hammer claimed to eat either one or two teaspoons full of his petroleum jelly each and every day and he lived to be 92 years old and change before the Vaseline killed him just like a dang old scaly leg mite.
I figure with the other stuff, they are just getting their birds ready for cooking.Your chickens feet will be a smooth as a baby's behind if you'll treat their feet with Vaseline.
