I got some new older girls given to me recently. One of them appears to have scaly leg mites. The others seem ok. I plan on soaking her, and applying Vaseline. I’ve also heard to give ivermectin. My question is how—topical or oral. And should I treat everyone even though the others seem fine? And does the bedding HAVE to be changed. It’s right in the middle of winter, and we use deep litter method to help keep the coop warm. Is it possible I can put down a munch of first Saturday lime or DE to treat the coop? I have both on hand.

Vaseline should smother them and help loosen the crusts on her feet.
Ivermectin can be used too, dosing is in the link below.

My understanding is SLM are fairly slow to migrate, but they can infest your other birds. So many people report failure with using DE, I would not even bother with that to take care of an infestation. I am not familiar with the use of lime, so cannot say one way or another.
Permethrin based products can be used to treat roosting bars, nesting boxes, etc.

Depending on how many birds you have, you could apply vaseline to all of their legs as well just in case - this way IF any mites have settle into the scales, the vaseline will smother them.
