I'm new and my 4 girls are 10 months old. Discovered signs of scaly leg mites on 3 of them in December so did the dipping in oil every 2-3 days for 3 weeks. About 6 days later one was losing a few scales on her legs and feet. The next day a few bleeding cracks.
I treated all of them with the PSP leg soak for 10 minutes and sprayed the coop 5 days ago. The winter storm hit so i haven't spent much time with them but seemed to be looking better. Today 2 of them have larger areas of bloody spots where maybe some scales have come off? I'm clueless as to what to do for them now. Any advice much appreciated!

I used ivermectin on them when we had leg mites. Also cleaning and treating the coop plus replacing the roosts with fresh ones... I don't recall any bleeding associated with it.

Thanks, I hadn't thought about replacing the roosts. Could that have introduced new mites in 5 days? The PSP was supposed to kill mites and eggs all at once and was quite expensive.
Also wondering if our severe low temps 4-8 degrees for several days could've caused damage that I'm seeing. SO confusing and can't find a vet who treats chickens!

Spraying kills mites but not their eggs. You have to repeatedly spray to get them all. And, they will hide in cracks and crevices where the spray doesn't reach. I use natural wood so I just pitched the roosts into the bonfire pit (far from the coop) and cut new ones.
