Scared Chickens

At night I lock up my chickens in their house. In the morning I let them out and stay in the yard with them for a while. But...when I leave they run to the hen house and refuse to come out. Every now and then one will scoot to the waterer but immediately run back. This has been going on for three weeks now. Nine hens are only laying 3 eggs every other day...somebody please help me out. THANX........

I would check the area closely because something is making them nervous....possibly a predator out of sight, something in the environment that is unsettling to them...it is going to take some investigating to sort this one out.


Laying could be just temperature related or something is stealing the eggs?

It takes me forever to find the hawks that are sitting in the trees,but the chickens zero in on them in seconds and are skittish.
