Scared duck?

Not having proper nourishment could have caused it your drake to get sick . Especially if they go without it for awhile just make sure you have feed now for them and plenty of fresh water too. My ducks are in the mud here a lot we've had so much rain it can be worrisome but they seem to do okay. Maybe if you can move their pen and house to another location where it’s not muddy and there is grass .
Yeah, the area were the coup was in was quite filthy

Enlist some of your party goers to help you move pen and coop to a better area!
Good idea, ill make sure to chnage the area. The coop itself was cleaned a few hours ago, so hopefully that shiuld fix the problem. however, I will try to make the area were the coop is right now off limits anway just in case.

Update: I brought the little duckling out to meet him, and he came out. He walked for a while while curiously watching the duckling who wouldnt leave my side. upon leaving, I laft him with his food, and brought a mirror. He is currently looking at himself in the mirror, it seems, and he seems less afraid. Thanks to all the suggestions! Ill keep you posted.

I have a mirror on the wall in my one house so my chickens and ducks can admire themselves.. it really does help with loneliness. @Magnolia Ducks put one in for her lone duck. I hope your drake and duckling become great friend they will it just takes time.

However, they left some nasty surprises in the area if the garden were they partied. Balloons, and some confetti like material were left. The duck is currently under a cypress all the way on the other side of the garden. We cleaned up as much asw e could in the darkness. I don't think he will go out to the other side of the garden overnight, right.

When I've lost ducks the others acted different for a few days. Sometimes they'll go back to normal and sometimes they'll always be a little different. We lost a lot of ducks within a few weeks months ago, and mine still act different. Not scared anymore, but different.
