I hate math so what I do is when in the brooder I give them a 1/4 of grit mixed in there feed for about 3 days straight this way I at least hope that they all got some grit
(so far so good) And then when they are outside I just throw a couple handfuls about once a week into the run with them I figure it this way they scratch to find grit so I just give it to them in the way they get anyway kill 2 birds one stone I know they are getting grit and I don't have to worry about it.
ETA: In time of feeding them treats they will come to love you and follow you around as if you are their momma (that is the coolest thing) I have one that will jump in my lap and peep to me while I feed her/him out of my hand, just give it time they will come around right now your the big scary hand that picks them up. (HINT) start saying something liek come and get it girls or what ever you wanna teach them and when they hear that they will come a runnin in due time but you need to do the same thing every time you give them treats.
