Scared Quail chicks?

two days ago I hatched 8 little coturnix quails (I will post pictures of them later) that were pretty friendly to me (I assumed that the reasoning behind this was that they were imprinted to me), They would hide underneath my hand when I put it in the incubator/brooder but today when I woke up and went to check on them they ran to the opposite side of the brooder, and when I stick my hand into the brooder they all seem to avoid it? Im not sure if this is normal behavior or if I did something wrong to scare them, but i'd like some advice on what to do to make them trust me again

They retain natural instincts and are fearful of anything approaching from above. That's how a hawk would approach them. Try approaching on their level.
