So I recently have been looking at my birds feet.I noticed raised scales on my Brahams feet BUT o figured this was from feathers growing underneath scales considering she is a feathered footed breed.Plus, this her feet’s the only ones who like this and they’ve been like this for a few months, having dealt with scales notes before ,some of the other birds woulda have had to have the same issues I feel like, and none have raised scales (note during spring I cut the fetahers on the feet due to extremely wet climate, lots of mud.)But, I have now also noticed what I am afraid may be bBumble Foot. The only signs of it are these dots.Birds walks fine, lays acts totally normal, dust baths, etc etc.

Note here is little pin fetahers underneath all the scales.

She does have bumblefoot scabs on both foot pads, but the raised scales are from scaly leg mites. Those may be treated with soaking the feet in either warm water and Epsom salts or warm soapy water for 15-20 minutes. The scales can be gently scrubbed with a toothbrush. This would benefit both conditions. Then apply a thick oil to the scales and rub it in once or twice a week. Some do use ivermectin pour on or given ivermectin orally. Some find they can pick off the softened bumblefoot scabs and squeeze out the cheese-like kernel of pus inside. Sometimes to get all of the core out, one needs to do the bumblefoot surgery with a scalpel or biopsy punch. Here is some reading:

I’ll try the cleaning of the foot and ripping the scab and scrubbing the scales off of further procedures are needed will do so.

Bird has been tooken care of.I soaked foot, Willa don’t not for fifteen minutes because it was closw to dark and tomorrow is a busy day.I did clean birds foot good made sure everything was clean around leg and bumble scar.I did bumble scars first.I did both epsom salt and soapy dawn dish water.Left foot had puss squeezed it out put some peroxide in it,wrapped it up.Right foot had harder tissue, but removed tissue scar and out cane blood, lots of blood. It bled out I rerinsed drained with peroxide and continue moving scab, repeat same action then wrap foot up.My grandmother said the birds left foot was hot ( from the Infection I’m assuming?)Anywho, I then after all the soaking and etc, I Vaseline both VERY WELL, smothered the legs in it and then wrapped her feet. She seems to be maneuvering around just fine, she got on the night roost and was a great patient, a little bread and music in the back ground did her fine.

Sounds like you had a busy evening—good job. Let us know how she gets along. It can take several weeks for the scales to improve.
