Science experiment: Egg hatching underwater

Would it hatch underwater?

  • Scrambled Eggs.

  • Possibly, if under certain conditions

Okay, I was a little silly. See, here's the deal. Not sure if this qualifies as science, but I'll try. The growing chick inside the egg needs oxygen. So the eggshell is porous. There needs to be an exchange of gases between the chick inside and air outside. Toxins and wastes leave the chick through the shell, and oxygen comes into the shell to nourish the chick. There HAS to be oxygen, or rather, air, surrounding the egg for that transfer to take place. Can't happen under water. Does this help?

I have recently been thinking. If I have an aquarium heater and have the water at a warm 95 or 100F and have a large oxygen matt so the egg can get oxygen, do you think it could hatch? Let me know what you think in the replies!
Sounds like pretty high humidity...🤔
