Scissor Beak Help

Hi, I have a beautiful breeding pair of a Buff Orpington hen and a rare Mille Fleur d'Uccle rooster, and they go great together. The only downside is that the rooster has a very mild case of genetic scissor beak. The hen is laying fertile eggs from the rooster, and I am very tempted to hatch...

I love studying and researching genetics, especially anything avian, I‘ll go do some research on scissor beaks and get back to you!
Okay, from what I’m seeing if it is genetic, most people seem to think it’s an recessive trait, one thats more common in some breeds more than others, orpington not being one of them (but I’m pretty sure the d’uccle is). Still, it’s unlikely that even 50% of your chicks will show the condition. I did manage to find a few articles here and there on people who breed their chickens with the condition, and not a single chick ended up having an abnormal beak. On a separate note: not everyone believes the condition to be genetic some scientists think it’s caused by not having correct temperatures during Incubation, this theory is supported with the condition appearing less when chicks are hatched under a hen instead of in a incubator.
