Scissor beak problems

Looks as if there might be even more amiss than "just" the beak problem, which is severe enough already, as it is not only the beak, but the entire lower mandibula out of place.

I know, I wish I knew what happened but I’ll try some of the tips on here and hope for the best. Thanks again everyone!

Also what’s this Nutridrench someone mentioned? It says our local farm supply has it which I’m going to check soon, but how would it be best to give her and she’s so tiny I’m sure it wouldn’t take much?

It's pretty much vitamins in a liquid form. It may give her the boost she needs. I use it in my chicks water when I ordered them from a hatchery to help them get a strong start. You can mix it in the water or give her a few drops just straight in her mouth.

If she's really sickly you can give it to her several times a day to get her strength up. Then maybe once a day till she starts thriving. It gets absorbed directly into the bloodstream rather than being digested in the stomach. I'm sure someone else will have better advice, this is only my experience with some of my sick chicks.

Ok I tried clipping just a tiny bit off the top beak and even though it was the very tip I still got a drop of blood. I used corn starch and it stopped right away and she went back to trying to eat. Her two siblings like I said are bigger with more feathers and are now chasing her off the feed so I put her in another cage with two small bantams, they seem to be getting along and yes I have a rock in their cage to file beaks on. I wet down feed and she still tries to find dry feed to eat. Do they ever need their bottom beaks filed? I mean that makes me nervous but just curious

Sorry I know this thread is a little older but i just stumbled across it! I wanted to let you know there’s something called Torpedo Feeding! It’s something to look into! I have a 2month old chick with severe scissor beak and have been speaking with some ladies on Fbook group called CrossBeak and special needs and CrossBeak Poultry In Motion. They have a bunch of videos on making them and feeding them. They also will do FaceTime calls and help you. They are all awesome and super helpful. I just wanted to let you know if it seems as if the mash isn’t doing it for her anymore you could look into that. Good Luck.
