My girl is roughly 7 weeks with a pretty severe cross beak. All the other gals her age are twice her size. Today I went to refill the feeders and do my daily check in and snuggles and found her half burried in the bedding and unable to stir her. She is breathing but won't move otherwise. I can't get her to eat or drink. Is this the end or is there more I can do to help?

You might try tube feeding her, but it may be too late. Generally in order to eat/survive such birds need special feeding arrangements - moistened feed in deep bowls that they can jam their faces into. Trimming of the beak can also facilitate eating to some degree. Their maintenance is a lifetime struggle.

If you have some Poultry NutriDrench or electrolytes I would give her some orally with a dropper or a spoon a drop at a time. She is probably dehydrated, and if you can get some fluids into her, it might save her. She needs to get water first, and when she has had plenty, mix a deep bowl of watery chicken feed and a little cooked egg. I hope you and save her.

We have a 14 month old Scissor beak ( extreme case) and we still struggle with her. What works this week, doesn’t work next week. The “magic rescue” I found was Baby Macaw hand food formula. It is a powder and you mix it to a pudding consistency so that it sticks to her tongue and she can get it down. Sometimes we sprinkle crumble on it, or soy meal but her favorite topping is apple sauce. I hope this helps and good luck!
