Without going into excessive detail, somebody offered me dog crates to use for housing quail. She's also interested in raising some herself, too. One less thing to worry about! Now, if I'm changing the water regularly, is there any reason I can't use saucers & dishes with rocks for water until I have money for Official Watering Containers and Official Food Bowls? I'm going to need a tarp over the top, hardware cloth or something to put over it to keep paws out & baby locks to keep the birds in, but don't think I'll need much more than that.
Now, I guess, the next step is to find an incubator. If I can't, I'm waiting to hear back from the local bird 4H group. I'm going to ask if there's a kid who wants to make a few bucks incubating quail for me (and the other woman).
