Im just so excited and have to tell it to a group who would apperciate this. Today we unloaded the truck load of wooden swing set parts for the kids to start building it this week and in that lot was 4 large pieces of plywood 12'x4' each and nicely painted on one side like siding would be. I was JUST thinking the other day I need to build a third coop. We have 20 birds 7 of which are bantams and could live alone in the small prefab coop I bought way back when i thought we would only have 4 birds. The rest can live together in two attached coops and be comfortable as well!
Here is the current set up:
Two coops attached with a small run in the middle then half-arsed fenced in because they are ravenous beasts who kept eating all of my veggie gardens!!
So The plan would move the small coop around the side of the house where I had it set up to begin with and the bantams would live there since they are more pet birds for the kids anyway. Then build this new large coop and put in where the small coop here is.
Im so excited to have this new plywood for free (with purchase of large swing set lol) and I have a ton of free pallets to use for the frame work as well!!
Anyway Im super excited!!! I still would love a walk in chicken house type thing but that wont be happening until we move onto to some land in the next 5 years after husband is finished with schooling!
