I have just had some hatching eggs arrive with each egg wrapped in bubble wrap. When I tried to unwrap them each egg has scotch taped holding the bubble wrap on the egg perhaps as a way to start the wrapping process more easily. Up to 25% of the surface of the egg is covered in glue. I started very slowly and carefully pulling away the tape but it either is impossible without breaking the shell ( really really adhesive )or leaves a sticky mess of glue behind.
What do you think I should do?? The glue has probably already lifted off the bloom where I pulled off the tape. I imagine the glue will seal the air pores and the chick can't "breathe" while developing yet if I wash I don't know if the glue will dissolve and cover the egg in a microscopic layer which will be much worse.
Anyone faced a similar situation??
