Greetings from South Carolina. My name is Scott Dixon. By day - I am a Web Designer with a company that provides services to Church's and non-profits. I'm just starting to get into chickens. I have built my own coops and started with a small flock of birds. Since I live in a rural town, I'm pretty much free to do have or do whatever I can.

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
- I'm VERY new to chickens. I've started my flock a few weeks ago. I've built my own coops and watering systems. I love to do projects and add on to my coops and chicken areas. My coop as you'll see is HOT pink, the theme I had in mind was Myrtle Manor the TV show on now that was recorded in Myrtle Beach SC. That's not too far from my house.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now and breeds?
- I have about 12 chickens.. I have them in two pens. The laying hens and pullets are in the main pen area. And the Polish (Minnie earl) is in her own pen and has her own mini coop.. She's pretty tiny right now..
- I have 3 Golden Buffs.
- I have 6 Dominique pullets (not sure of the sex yet)
- I have 1 Dominique Hen
- I have 1 Top Hat Polish
- I have 1 Unknown Type Hen
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
- I found this site doing research on Facebook and on the web. I have friends that mention this site.. I loved to look at the coops and coop ideas on this site too. I found the ideas and plans for my watering system here. It's pretty awesome and the instructions were pretty awesome.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
- Other than chickens, I do web and print design. I like to tinker with projects around the house. Most of my projects are just creative projects.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
- Other than my chickens, I have 2 dogs - Buddy and Max, they are chiwawa and weenie dog mix and live inside. I live in a very small town and it gets boring. I live in a very old house with a few barns so my chickens fit right in. Even though I live in town you'll never know it from the house.. Other than that - I take life as it comes...
