Scratching need help kinda scared

my ducks have been scratching and i read somewhere that they need to swim they have been swimming in a large tub but they are still scratching and i’m afraid they are scratching too much

Bet they are losing fluff and feathers are growing in can you see little spikes of feather shafts? This must be an itchy time when this is going on because all ducklings do it.

they have feathers on their tail already and i see some i was just making sure it’s normal for them to lose fluff this early

Yes indeed. If you are worried it's mites it's easy to see them part down and check out the skin. But if given water to swim in waterfowl rarely have external parasites.
