scratching while sitting?

What are my 2 week old chicks doing? When they are out of the brooder they sometimes like to scratch while they are laying down, sometimes on their sides, sometimes with one leg so that they are going in circles---but laying down the whole time. Are they cold, hot, weird?!? Thank you from a novice.

I will make a dust bath for them in the brooder. Is this just instinct or do they have bugs that I need to address?

They are just being chickens. It's a hoot to watch it when they get outside. They will also sunbathe, looks like they are having a seizure.
