I have a polish chick that SCREAMS when you pick it up. She is 6 weeks old and has done it since she was born.

She screams the whole time you hold her. Nothing soothes her.

She has never been traumatized or injured so I have no idea what the problem is.

My other polish chick screams when you 1st pick her up but settled quickly.

Is this a polish trait or do i have weird birds?

My polish have never done that before. Thats interesting. Are you sure she is not injured?

My Polish chick does the same thing when picked up. She would much rather perch on your arm than be held with your hands, and is perfectly content to be transported anywhere you please as long as she is just sitting on your arm or hand. But don't try to pick her up - thrashes and hollers!!

Yeah, I second that. Also, bare in mind that they are a bit of a crazy breed to begin with. Not even counting their vision imparement, they can be skittish just because. If your other cheeps seem to like you holding them, there is probably nothing you can do for your Polish. I have a Silver Laced just like yours, she does love people and their company but she hates being held. She WILL scream bloody murder if I pick her up.

My Golden Laced will do the same. My Buff Laced loves being held. My WCB tolerated being held but didn't like it. She didn't scream though, and was very personable.

Point being, they're all different.
