Congrats on the egg. Go figure. Leghorns are the drama queens. Sound like they are about to die any times things ruffle their feathers. They groan, screech, scream. With a leghorn, the sound that means trouble is silence. They are either loud or dead I have found. Now not to worry, I mean all quiet when I say that. That means the coop makes no sound. Unless it is night, no sound is generally not the best. I was holding my first hen when she laid her first egg. I was like 5 at the time. I was worried I was holding here too tight, so I loosened up my grip, and she was still screaming, so I held her a little tighter, and after about 5 minutes of me loosening and tightening my grip on her, an egg popped out, but sadly broke on the floor.View attachment 1143614 OH MY GOODNESS!!!!! As I suspected, their first egg and my first egg as a chicken owner!!! She stopped making noises for a while and I got concerned now that she was quiet again (ironic) and I checked on her and BAM there was an EGG
