Hello everyone. I have an EE who I'm currently treating for lice and sl mites. During the day she wanders on my backyard patio with a dirt area that's directly next to my main yard, and she sleeps in a retired rabbit cage in my garage at night. Yesterday, though, she screeched as I put her down. Like a high-pitched screech. But nothing had changed since I had last put her there. Tonight, she did it several times. Is there something wrong? Could it be the mites?
Right now she's sleeping in the garage.
Oh, and before I leave you off, she's been otherwise acting normal and has been healing well. She's been laying almost daily since we got her. She's a rescue so she's about 1-2 years old.
Thank you for any replies!

Yes, but she has not been introduced yet. They can see her through the gate as it's attached to me main yard. But she sleeps alone.
Screeching is generally an alarm call, so she may be reacting to the unknown birds, and her unknown circumstances.

Maybe something in there is scaring her. Could there be a rat? A big snake?
Maybe she's afraid to be alone.

Be very careful when introducing her. Adding a single hen to a group can be extremely hard on the single hen, she'll likely be picked on mercilessly.
I will check when I put her in tonight. I am experienced with adding single hens at a time!
