Screen window - I need your ideas Please!

What if you drilled a small hole next to the top of the window and attached a rope to the bottom of the flap, threading that rope through the hole. Then when you pull on the rope the flap opens and you could have a nail or something to tie the rope around and keep the flap up.

Just a thought
