My little mystery chick seems super scraggly (even for an awkward teen lol) and I just don’t remember anyone else being this scruffy. It’s not like an overall scruff, but the individual feathers. Am I overimagining things?

Not sure, but it looks like it is just typical teenage stuff. In the first pic it looks like it is just that the feathers are still coming in. I took pics of my boy to try and sell him and they look terrible. I attached a pic of him then.

She does look a bit scruffy…is she a super light lavender? If she’s got lavender genes I would guess it is the shredded feather gene that seems to run in the lavenders. Hard to tell though!

I really feel like she is 100% not white, we have other white chickens (WJG and SLW) and she had those baby white wingtips that stood out against the lavender. The feed store she came from supposedly buys from Hoovers and the only option that matches from their rare selection is a Lavender Orpington. Obviously the beak isn’t matching up with that though… She just looks so rumpled lol
